Tonight was the Sugar Bowl college football game in New Orleans, Louisiana. The University of Utah Utes defeated Alabama by the score of 31-17. Utah finished their season with 13 wins and 0 losses, which makes the Utes this season's only remaining undefeated Division 1 football team in the nation. Many Utah fans, including Jeff, watched the game on television.

Jeff and Penny's family likes to celebrate each New Year's Day by taking pictures of the children out in front of the house. Best wishes to everyone in 2009!

Dozens of youth aged 14-18 and adult chaperones participated in a New Year's Eve party at the local bowling alley. The event lasted from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. The partygoers watched the countdown to the New Year live from Times Square in New York (10 p.m. Utah time), then cheered again when the New Year arrived here two hours later. Shortly after midnight, a hearty breakfast of eggs, pancakes, and bacon was served to those in attendance.
